The paper outlines the regularities of formation of geocryological conditions in areas of active volcanism. The factual material is collected in the course of field studies in the vicinity of the Kliuchevskaya group of volcanoes in Kamchatka. An overview of the natural conditions of Kamchatka and the study area is presented. The main approaches to creating geocryological maps of mountain areas are described. The methodology developed by the author for the Kluchevskaya group of volcanoes area is based on remote sensing data and geoinformation technologies. It is shown that perennially frozen rocks are widespread on the slopes of active volcanic structures, and volcanogenic taliks are localized mainly in their central part. The network of boreholes and sites for monitoring the temperature regime of rocks and the dynamics of seasonal thawing depths created during the work allows observation of climate changes. The work is of interest to a wide range of specialists.
