Less able to support it. Nay, more, that these acts of injus tice are not practised in secret by the class of men who merely possess a second-rate reputation for honesty, but by those City magnates who loudly assert their posses sion of that virtue, and yet openly set public opinion at defiance - their actions in the matter of civic legislation being, as a rule, legalised by our laws.
