O knihe
In recent years, progress in the area of health, especially in dentistry, has led to the birth of new paradigms regarding the patient-dentist relationship on which all medical procedures and decision making are based. This mutual relationship is conditioned by a basic fact. The patient's understanding of his disease, alternative treatments and consequences is not as good as that of a physician, which leads to misunderstanding, which causes the patient to delegate decision-making power to the expert, which causes the dentist to make decisions on behalf of the patient and adopt the most convenient alternative method. Knowing and applying informed consent becomes a fundamental element, especially when identifying patients at risk of surgery. A large number of legal situations faced by dentists are often affected by a feeling of patient dissatisfaction with treatment and lack of information. With the advent of the COVID 19 pandemic, it is more important for the practitioner and the patient to request informed consent for emergency care.
