The volume is divided into six main sections: a 32 page biography: a 1985 interview between Schuller and Carnovale; a list of works and performances; a discography all disc format recordings; an annotated bibliography of 73 selected writings by Schuller; and an annotated bibliography of 469 selected writings about Schuller, mostly in English. Also included are four appendixes and an index. Cross-references are plentiful. Entries are occasionally from hard-to-find sources (concert programs, smaller newspapers) and many disks are out of print, but annotations are informative and subjective.
