Writing the history of the founding of the Colegio de Santa Ana y San Vicente Mártir allows us to explain a significant event in the annals of the Society of Jesus in Spain during the 16th century. It is fair to point out that, with their arrival in the bishopric of Extremadura, the religious transformed the pedagogy and spirituality from the Ignatian teachings that, with their many qualities and even with their defects, following the models of the time, gave so much fruit in the counter-reformationist Europe. The new charism penetrated with enthusiasm and interest among the inhabitants of Plasencia and persisted strongly until the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1767.
