O knihe

The relief of Burundi is uneven, favouring erosion. Data collection method: survey sheet and qualitative and quantitative water analysis. It emerges from our study that sediments are estimated at 1.5 tons/ha/year during low water. Socio-economic activities, variability of hydrometric regimes and rainfall variability are the main causes of sedimentation which are influenced by climatic factors and anthropic activities which have a major and very significant impact on the ecosystems despite the fertility of the floodplain. The perspectives are the development of the watershed, the availability of weather reports to the public and the installation of an early warning system, hydrological monitoring and the conservation of fragile ecosystems. Our observations allowed us to note that the Ph in this basin is on average 6.5, so it tends to be in an acid environment. An average temperature of 22°C favourable for fish reproduction. A high turbidity could decrease photosynthesis and can bury or suffocate the eggs and clog the gills of the fish.
