O knihe
Implantology, the study and practice of implantation of artificial devices and materials into the oral tissues, is presently the fastest growing area in dentistry. Dentistry has sought a superior method of tooth replacement through dental implants, which have added options for successful prosthodontic rehabilitation which were formerly unavailable. Dental implants have brought in as much improvisation in dentistry as local anesthetics and fluorides did earlier in the century. They have changed the dentistry's ability to remain contemporary and expanding. Implants can be a good alternative because it can prevent residual alveolar resorption. Other factors that favors early placement of implants in children would include excellent local blood supply, positive immunological resistance, uncomplicated osseous healing. When restoring the edentulous space in young children and adolescents using implants, the basic knowledge of growth and development is essential to assess the implants response to craniofacial growth. Implants behave like ankylotic teeth and fail to move together with the surrounding structures leading to infraocclusion of implants and difficulties with prosthesis.
