O knihe

"A Study of the Relationship Between Incarceration, Birth Rate, and Racial Disparities Among African Americans since the Passing of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994," is the title of this dissertation, which was defended at The Whitney M. Young Jr. School of Social Work, at the prestigious Clark Atlanta University in November 2014.  This body of work focuses on the relationship between mass incarceration, birth rate (the new majority), and racial disparities through addressing over arching issues such as socio-economic, political, education, and family development in the United States.  The added layer of community policing, the school to prison pipeline, and the influence of media outlets increases the urgency for further research, study, and need for the implemented solutions designed to tackle this injustice.
