The annual average growth rate of India is posting robust numbers. Along with the growth of other two sectors Indian agriculture is growing at a healthy 3 per cent per annum. Today the agriculture sector not only feeds the bourgeoning population of India but also creates a surplus for export. Over the years the Indian agricultural export witnessed quantitative and qualitative changes. Indian agricultural export has moved away from the traditional items to nontraditional items. The export basket of Indian agricultural goods is ever increasing and diversifying. Present book describes the growing importance of Indian agricultural export as important foreign exchange earner for the country in the reform era. The growth of agricultural export is presented in two ways. Firstly, the composition of export by commodity groups wise. Secondly, direction of export in the reform era and changing direction and emerging markets for the various agricultural commodities from India.
