Undoubtedly, it is worthwhile to review the training of industrial engineering professionals in the field of sustainability, and for this purpose, this proposal analyzes the curriculum of the Industrial Engineering career, the decree of creation of the Tecnológico Nacional de México and the educational program of the subject of sustainable development, since in the last thirty years the concept of sustainability has been occupying a growing space in the economic, political and social life of the country. However, it is such an ambiguous notion that in reality it can be interpreted in a very subjective way under diverse referents.
