Global concern over disappearing wildlife species led to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), in 1973. CITES represents a new attitude towards international attempt in protecting endangered species fauna and flora in the wild. This book examined the international legal regime for the protection of wildlife and endangered species fauna and flora and the challenges of implementation in developing countries. It presented the breadth and variety of wildlife protection laws and approaches adopted at the global level to protect wildlife.
