As the planet is being destroyed, three sisters, the sole survivors, prepare to leave. They agree to travel in one body-Crystal's. She takes their energy spirits into herself, reduces her body to radio-light waves, and heads for Earth, arriving via sunbeam and materializing on the naked back of Mac Dakota, a.k.a "Alleycatmac."
As Crystal tells us about Gareth-an older, more evolved planet- we learn why they had no government, no religions, no doctors, hospitals, crime, or jails. Why all male were hermaphrodites. Why their attitudes about sex and love were/are unique. In other words, this sci-fi story is significantly more than a simple romance.
