Isla's Holiday Adventure

Isla Hope Skinner is an eight-year-old girl with a passion for turtles, rainbows, sunshine, slime, and the beach. She lives in Perth with her mum, dad, two sisters - Amber and Indi - and their huge dog, Luna. Isla regularly visits Ningaloo Reef with her family and loves spotting the turtles and whale sharks - her favourite animal! As told in Isla's Holiday Adventure, Isla loves to swim in the sea and splash around with her sisters. It makes her incredibly happy to be around the beautiful sea life and spot the colourful fish, coral reef, sting rays, and even humpback whales! Her love for sea life is combined with her passion for looking after the planet. She is passionate about keeping the ocean clean and doing anything she can to protect the marine life she loves dearly. Sometimes elements of these adventures, like snorkelling, take a big amount of bravery for Isla. She has dyslexia and a sensory processing disorder. For Isla, these are like special powers that help her see the world differently. This sometimes means it's harder for Isla to write her story. But she hopes, by trying her best and sharing Isla's Holiday Adventure, she can help others with these special gifts to feel just as empowered as she does. In addition, Isla believes that all children are equal and all children are important, no matter how different they might be. Tall or short. Academic or athletic. Every child has a magical place in the world, and Isla hopes to show that, with time, they will all shine. At eight years old, Isla already has big plans and hopes to spread this positive message by becoming a teacher. Family and friends recognise Isla for her big heart and kind soul. Isla loves to share this joy by laughing and spending time with the people she cares about. In time, Isla hopes to spread this positivity even further and travel the world, especially Europe. It is these big adventures which inspire Isla's writing, and she hopes she can impart two main messages to her readers - to never give up and that it's okay to be who you truly are, for that is special enough.
