O knihe

Issues in Gender Discourse is a product of academic ponderings and considerations of contemporary Gender issues. It portrays a world view of gender and gender behaviours as shapened by socio-cultural, environmental and traditional perceptions of peoples and how these have affected different genders psycho-socially. It also reviews the impact of various levels of perception on policy formulation and execution particularly in Africa as they affect women of Africa in particular. A closer look into the contents of this book provides some intrinsic merit and profound influence, which gender studies will have on social thought now and in the future. Although, it has not exhaustively discussed all gender issues currently parading our cultural, religious, political and economic spheres, it stands as a call for other researchers to pursue similar goals of producing easy-to-read, indigenized texts on gender issues. I affirm that the book, will not only serve students and scholars of gender studies, it will also be of immense use to the general public, who have been largely misinformed and dis-informed about the relevance of gender discourses to everyday realities.
