Migration is an essential and necessary livelihood strategy for millions of individuals and households worldwide. However, migration mostly occurs due to the intention of increasing the household economy and social status. The purpose of this study is to examine the socio-economic, living and working conditions of migrant labourers in the study area, and to examine whether these migrant laborers facing problems in their work environment as well as living place and also to find out their awareness level of existing labor law's and welfare measures implemented by the government for migrant laborers. The study was carried out in Karnataka, India with 100 migrant workers. The Empirical study demonstrates that in the Migrants are working as hazardous work, without having safety measures and poor health condition. Unknowingly or without having any knowledge about the work, workers are engaged in the work segment. Most of the migrant laborers are temporary and unskilled workers even they are not receiving regular work in a work environment. The living conditions of migrant laborers are deplorable and they don't have any basic facility in their living places.
