O knihe
This phenomenological qualitative study aimed to explore the learning experiences in Science subject of the MWSP students, alumni and teachers. The nine participants were purposively chosen from one of the private schools in Davao City offering MWSP. The themes that emerged for the best practices were: (a) collaborative learning is effective, (b) contextualized teaching and learning are highly effective for understanding science concepts, and (c) caring teaching is an important stimulation and gives impact to learning. The challenges that emerged were: (a) capabilities and motivation of the students is a challenge, (b) resources for teaching and learning is limited, and (c) instructional time for teaching and learning science is not enough since the class happens only every Sunday with one hour period. The implications of the findings to MWSP are: evaluate the curriculum; instruction must be flexible, learner-centered and indigenized, assessment should be authentic; learning environment should be conducive and supportive; and continued student services activities must be provided to students.
