O knihe

The development of any language depends upon its versatility and novelty; otherwise it becomes a dead language. Since the days of Shakespeare, the lexical, grammatical and semantic departures from the normal language have been generally hailed as great devices that enrich the language. Therefore, the violation of certain rules and conventions related to a language does not corrupt it, as believed by some philologists. The chief aim of this work is to explore the uncertainties of English language. e. e. cummings was the pioneer of experimental poetry in the twentieth century American Literature. Through his poems it is attempted to analyse how language can break the linguistic norms and yet be communicative and effective. cummings is a deviant poet not only for the sake of deviation but to communicate some extra-textual significance to a discerning eye. His reality is too intense and powerful that a regular form is unable to capture its bewildering power only his deviant style can create an astonishing reality, that surpasses all limitations
