The module described in the books is specifically designed for that purpose; it is used as a low cost digital electronic power analyzer module for simple power measurement applications. The digital power analyzer described here is based on a method that differs from the electrodynamics, electrostatic, thermal, and Hall Effect wattmeters, all of which make use of analog multiplication of current and voltage performed by a physical process in the device.
