Lucy Letby is a former neonatal nurse convicted of murdering seven infants and attempting the murder of seven others between June 2015 and June 2016. Letby was working at the Countess of Chester Hospital at the time. The general facts of this case and the convictions will be broadly familiar to the reader by now. The trial was one of the longest in English legal history. When the verdict was rendered it wasn't uncommon for Letby to be compared to Myra Hindley in the media.
