Profoundly convinced, by what I have seen and learned while in New Zealand of the tri umph of the gospel of Christ, in the conversion of the Maoris from cannibalism to Christianity that it is a stronger and more cogent argument for the power of the gospel than any statement I have ever read in apologetic books; and also quickened by the hope that this brief story of the wonderful conversion of these cannibals may convince others of the living power of modern missions, and hasten the coming of our Lord, I now offer this book to all who long for the conversion of the world.
