This book is particularly written in the context of migration experiences in India and of the rural urban push migration. Migration is one of the main livelihood or survival strategy adopted by the people in India. The first chapter of this book basically discusses how the occupational pattern of migrants is different in the three phase of migration by taking the primary data from malappuram district of Kerala. The migrant's occupation is different from pre-migration, migration and post migration phase of the migration process. The second chapter basically discusses the migration pattern of undivided Andhra Pradesh. In third chapter, the author explains the importance of women migration in India. As per the census data, 30% of Indians are migrants, more than 75% of Indian migration is due to the marriage based on non economic migration by using the NSSO data on Migration 2007-08. The last chapter explains how migrants use their skills acquired during the migration period and how they investment and save their home country by taking the primary data from the village analysis in Malappuram district of Kerala.
