Recently, particular interest of scientists has been focused on biomedical polymers, the main objective of this work is to discuss various polymers recommended for the pharmaceutical applications and then to describe natural compounds used and the synthesis of biodegradable and bioresorbable polyesters and their substituted ,especially those used for drug delivery systems, therapeutic systems and macromolecular prodrugs.
