Dr. Monique Akassi's Neo Hybrid Pedagogy in Post Colonialism Composition is the first quantitative research study in the composition and rhetoric discourse that addresses concerns regarding exclusively African American students'struggle to adapt to writing portfolios and many current composition pedagogies. Moreover, in the 21st century many minority students are ostracized by conflicting teaching styles, Western Culture's influence on the academic discourse between the student versus the teacher, and problematic teaching methodologies for African American students.
