O knihe
Under nutrition continues to be a problem of considerable magnitude in most of the developing countries of the world. Children are nutritionally the most vulnerable. More than half of the children in India are unable to grow to their full physical and mental potential owing to under nutrition. Amongst all those children the tribal children are the worst victim of under nutrition and demonstrate various degrees of growth retardation. India has a tribal population of over 84 million which constitutes 8.2% of its total population according to the Census of India, 2001. Several research studies on various tribal children living in different parts of India have found them to be socially and economically disadvantaged. This books gives a holistic perspective of the nutritional and health status of tribal children in the Koraput district of Odisha, India.
