O knihe
Excerpt from Ovidii Nasonis Fastorum: Liber Primus
The word Fasti (so. Dies) properly me: is those days on which it is lawful to administer justice. By extension, Ovid uses it to signify the Calendar. The Fasti is a kind of poetical almanac, in which are set down, in order, the chief festivals and other days (tempora) in each month, and what was believed to be their origin (cazwce). Only the first six books of this valuable work are extant.
