The recent Sustainable Land Management strategy adopted by the Government of Ethiopia advocates adherence to the strategies and systems of the country, harmonization of approaches and efforts among donors, result orientation, mutual accountability and local ownership so that good land management practices are scaled up and sustained, resulting in economic development, reduced poverty, and improved ecosystem functions.
