O knihe

Phlebotomine sand flies (Diptera: Psychodidae) are insects from the warm parts of the world, including the Mediterranean, that transmitted many infectious agents specially the parasite of genus Leishmania. This causative agent of cutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis of human and animal (dogs, rodents...) is endemic in Morocco representing a real problem of public health. In the present study, we present results of spatio-temporal surveys of phlebotomine sand flies as well as of rodent reservoir of Leishmania species, in central Morocco, endemic area of cutaneous leishmaniasis. Effect of climate change on the distribution of leishmaniasis actors (vectors and reservoir rodents) in Morocco is also put into discussion.
