O knihe
Mungbean is one of the most important pulse crops in the tropics and subtropics for its early maturity and well adaptation to diverse agroecological conditions. The capacity of the crop for its biological nitrogen fixation and high seed protein content increases its agricultural demand and economical value. But low yield and poor seed quality often encounters mungbean cultivation. Although, mungbean plant produces a large amount of flowers but most of them abscise rather than develop into mature pods which reduces yield. Moreover, lack of proper nutrient management especially nitrogen and weather damage may often causes deterioration of the quality of seeds resulting poor stand establishment of successive crop that eventually gives poor seed yield. This book presents the various physiological aspects of flowering pattern, flower abscission, growth rate, rate and duration of seed filling, proper nitrogen management, and impact of seed priming, simulated rainfall effects on seed quality of mungbean. It will be helpful for post graduate students and researches in the field of Agronomy and Crop Physiology.
