The whole world is shaken by various socio-political crises. African countries are no exception to this reality of political instability which requires reconciliation for a return to social cohesion and peaceful coexistence. Reconciliation is an act by which men or peoples in a situation of conflict agree to maintain good relations once again. However, political reconciliations have failed in African countries. The reason is that they are not sincere. These reconciliations are rather axiological and ideological instruments serving as political strategies. Indeed, for the pretenders to state power, reconciliation is a strategy for gaining power through political alliances and coalitions. The objective for these actors is to unite and pool their forces in order to be effective in the struggle for power. If these coalitions do not keep their promises, they will soon shatter and give way to new political crises. For those in power, reconciliation is a means of seeking political legitimacy, a strategy for gaining access to the political process.
