O knihe
Current models cannot explain most phenomena of mutagenesis. In my opinion, now mutagenesis as an area of research is in deep crisis. This is reflected in the understanding of genomic instability and mechanisms of cancer formation. In the monograph the author offers polymerase-tautomeric model of ultraviolet mutagenesis. A review of studies on various aspects of the mutation process, as well as the currently existing models of mutagenesis is presented. A model for the mechanism of change of tautomeric states of paired DNA bases under ultraviolet light is developed. It is shown that it is possible the formation of five rare tautomeric state of thymine and adenine. The rare tautomeric states of DNA bases are stable under some conditions. These conditions are studied. The mechanisms of targeted deletions, targeted insertions and targeted complex insertions resulting from the SOS or error-prone DNA synthesis, containing cis-syn cyclobutane thymine dimers are developed. The monograph is designed for professionals in the fields of physics, chemistry and molecular biology.
