Opportunistic intestinal parasite infections (OIPIs) are the major public health problems among HIV/AIDS and other immuno-compromised individuals in most developing countries including Ethiopia. This study was aimed at determining the prevalence of Opportunistic intestinal parasite infections and associated risk factors among HIV sero-positive individuals at Hiwot Fana Specialized University Hospital,Harar Town, Eastern Ethiopia. A cross-sectional study was carried out at HFSUH, from March-May, 2014. Using serial a sampling method, a total of 422 HIV sero-positive individuals were included both from out patient and in patient departments. Stool samples were collected and processed.Blood samples were collected from the study participants. This book,therefore, provides current information in the study area and the relation ship of opportunistic intestinal parasite and HIV sero-positive individuals' CD4+ count. it also identify the risk factors for OIPI. This book is helpful for anyone who want to further investigate on this area as base line information and gives enough information and knowledge for individuals who are interested to know prevalence OIPI among HIV seropositives.
