Breadfruit (Artocorpus artilis) is a high-energy yielding, but an underutilized fruit with good source of nutrients. Breadfruit tree is deciduous and grows fast under favorable conditions, which grows upto a height of 0.5 -1.5 m per year and its trunk diameter is 0.5 -1 m in the first 10 -12 years. As raw Breadfruit is gluten-free in nature and has limited shelf life, efforts have been made to convert the fruit into flour. The Breadfruit flour has a good shelf life than the raw fruit.
