Gamma Radiation is an effective means of sterilization for shelf life enhancement of food items including fruits and vegetables by killing the microflora responsible for their decay. However there are concerns about the effect of nutritional value of the food after this treatment. Citrus is an important fruit throughout the world and is well known for its nutritional value.
