Diabetes mellitus is known as a poor lifestyle disorder that is engulfing people of the whole world very rapidly, unhealthy dietary habits, high blood pressure, lack of physical activity, obesity etc. are risk factors in developing this illness.It is prevailing worldwide in both European and Asian countries. DM is a silent killer that is affecting both male and female in metropolitan city (Karachi) of Pakistan. It is also exacerbated by psychological Problems such as perceived stress and depression that negatively effects over all quality of life of people with diabetes, however, individuals without diabetes are at less risk for being victimized by these factors. Perceived stress was positively correlated with depression while it was negatively associated with quality of life in people with diabetes. Depression was also negatively linked with QOL in people with diabetes as compared to persons without diabetes. However, females with diabetes are at greater risk for perceived stress and depression than male with diabetes, hence, both gender equally suffer with lower QOL.Diabetes complications are enhanced because of negligence of its care due to lack of interest and excessive burden.
