O knihe
Hemophilia is a disease that affects a broad range of physical, social, and academic activities among school-aged children. In spite of technical improvements, hemophilic children are subjected to multiple physiological, psychological stressors and disturbed quality of life (QOL). The aim of the present study has two folds; to investigate QOL of school age children with hemophilia through both mothers and children opinions; and to detect the difference between QOL opinions of mothers and their children. A descriptive, comparative research design was utilized in the current study. The study sample consisted of 50 school-age children with hemophilia and 50 of their mothers selected from the hematology clinic in El-Monira Children Hospital. Data were collected by a structured interview schedule constructed by the researcher and Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 Generic Core Scales developed by James and Varni (2003) and modified by the researcher. The results revealed that there was statistically significant difference between the mean of the total score of selected QOL dimensions of children and their mothers.
