O knihe
The emergence of bioethics coupled with the rise in technology has set forth the need in addressing pertinent issues in medical practices, experimentations and schemes. Humans are faced with making decisions in all aspects of life including decisions at the end of life. Regardless of the difficulties in making such decisions, the end of life can be difficult and a challenging time for individuals and families especially with respect to medical issues. A whole lot of issues are encapsulated in bioethics, but the book addresses issues related to end of life which remains religiously, emotionally and politically charged topics. Significantly, this book addresses medical decisions concerning end of life issues, and tackles pertinent medical technologies such as organ transplantation, human experimentation, withdrawing and withholding treatment, euthanasia, suicide and physician assisted suicide. It further explores arguments in favor and against such decisions from the religious perspectives and gives more understanding to the need for interventions and education about decision making near the end of life.
