Respiratory distress syndrome is a disease that occurs more frequently in newborns and is considered one of the main causes of infant morbidity and mortality, so the objective was to identify nursing care in newborns with respiratory distress syndrome. Applying a qualitative methodology of ethnographic type, where 5 nursing professionals were interviewed by means of audio recording and previous ethical consent 2authorized, the results obtained allowed the identification of nursing care in neonates with this pathology, and also allowed the analysis of the experience and perception of the nursing professional, relating the care with the proposed theory. To reach the conclusion that nursing care is of quality, applying humanized care as well as scientific knowledge, which during the experience has left positive and negative impacts when providing care.
