These types of defects, whether of pathologic or mechanical origin often require a creative approach to management. The word ¿perforate¿ comes from the Latin word ¿perforö which means to ¿bore¿, ¿pierce-through¿ or ¿penetrate.Root Canal Perforation is a mechanical or pathological communication between the root canal system and the external tooth surface. It can be of two types, one that results from a resorptive process and the other, that is iatrogenically produced, which can occur during access cavity preparation or biomechanical preparation of the root canal or a post-endodontic procedure.
