The famous Salar Jung Museum in India is the second largest single-family private collection in the world. The collection ranging from 2nd century B.C to early 20th century A.D. The collection of the Museum divided into Indian Art, Middle Eastern Art, Far Eastern Art, European Art and Children's Section. Salar Jung-III had agents from abroad; who sent him catalogues and lists from well-known antique dealers (Christies and Sotheby's etc,) More than 40 years he devoted his life for enriching his treasures of art, literature and charity, one of the last consignments of his purchase was a set of Ivory Chairs of Tippu Sulthan of Mysore (Presented by Louis XVI of France to Tippu), which was received only after his death. He died on 2nd March 1949 at the age of 60 years. Nawab Sahib's motto was "MY TRUST IS IN GOD" All his life; he remained a single man and dedicated his riches and recreation for gathering craftsmanship treasures.
