This study examines the challenges and constraints of the security agencies in managing terrorism in Nigeria since 2009-2015. Its further defines different types of terrorism and identifies the type of terrorism experienced here in Nigeria. This study also borders on the root causes of terrorism in Nigeria and proffer long and short term steps the government could adopt to manage terrorism in the country. The project's objectives are to examine factors limiting the security agencies from managing terrorism and to identify measures to be taken to curb insurgency in Nigeria; to investigate the key factors strengthening terrorism in the country; to also suggest possible ways of tackling the menace in the country, aside military option. The scope and methodology of this research is primarily based on published books, articles, materials on the internet and newspapers both national and international due to the nature of the research.
