O knihe
This book was designed to integrate research and implications in order to shed light upon the increased need for understanding the psychosocial situation of non-native children in Greek primary school and kindergarten. It is based on a number of studies that were conducted at the School of Early Childhood Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Six studies that where conducted in Greek regular primary schools, intercultural primary schools, and kindergartens are presented along with their conclusions. Finally, an Intercultural Physical Education programme is presented based on the project's findings. The programme was implemented in Greek multicultural kindergartens and aimed at the social inclusion of non-native children. Summarizing, a Physical Education programme orientated towards music and kinetic education is based on children's cooperation; therefore it minimizes tensions, helps to improve communication and enhances social relations among native and non-native children. We hope that this volume will prove useful to educators and other professionals that deal with children in their everyday practice, in multicultural kindergarten or primary school settings.
