O knihe
Borosilicate glasses are one of the important glasses offering attracted extensive research in the fields such as optoelectronics, solar energy technology, astronomical reflecting telescope, in micro electromechanical systems and sealing glasses to nuclear waste immobilization. Moreover the high density of these glasses makes suitable for radiation shielding materials. In the present investigation MgO, PbO used as modifier, especially PbOimproves the chemical durability, enhances the resistance against diversification and reduces the melting temperature. In modern technology, rare earth (RE) ions have attractive role as active ions in many optical materials. Further the amorphous solids activated with RE ions are good laser active materials and increase their photonic device applications. Magnesium lead borosilicate glasses are one of the choice fluorescent for their suitable chemical environment for lasing ions like Sm3+ , Eu3+, Dy3+, Nd3+ etc. The objectives of the present investigations are to optimize the optical and structural properties of Sm3+/ Eu3+/Dy3+ with the help of Nd3+ ions in magnesium lead borosilicate glasses and also the energy transfer between Sm3+-Nd3+, Eu3+-Nd3+
