O knihe

The Roman scale -or Roman balance- is a weighing instrument characterized by the inequality in the arms of its lever. From the origins of thought there have been notions of justice personified in divinities such as Themis (famously represented holding a scale blindfolded) and Dike, a figure in which the Greeks found the source of all events in human life. The question of justice can become one of the most contentious points within and outside the field of law. In the present work, several of the most important conceptions of justice throughout history are projected in order to analyze various discussions and approaches, even when the logical collisions of an ideological and political nature occur as a consequence, within the broad universe that is the Philosophy of Law. Precisely, our idea is to enrich ourselves with the comparisons and contrasts that this debate generates, since we are located in a world, with a legal system and in a life in society that needs and is nourished by diversity as a fundamental value of democratic life.
