Driving lessons that would take me on a journey lasting 34 years? Now that's what I call getting one's money's worth! And that was just the beginning . . .
Stitches in the Tapestry of Time examines life as just that: a tapestry of fifty years of delights, disasters, and all points in between from 1971 to 2021. An unusual love story gives rise to an equally special family. The fables and foibles of all things parenting. The harvest of another perfect pairing that yields that most precious of fruit: grandkids! Nursing: rarely a more demanding profession! The Covid-19 pandemic, now thankfully showing signs of waning in most parts of the world, has furnished graphic evidence of that. Yet for me it provided another 34-year span of getting paid for doing what I loved: teaching and mentoring the next generation. This makes me a member of the rarest of breeds: I never worked a day in my life! The delights of residing in a country setting within a large urban area, the pleasures, ploys and plights of legions of pre-furred and feathered friends: they're all here to amuse and amaze you, just as they continue to do so for me. Finally, I share a spiritual journey that has often brought me to my knees. A very personal voyage, not to be confused with religion. I share these insights while respecting all worldviews.
This and more awaits you, both in prose and poetry. It has been a fabulous fifty years. Travel it with me as together we examine Stitches in the Tapestry of Time.
