The Streets of West Fresno now have a voice...The unflinching, uncompromising, Original Diamond Boy!
Gang violence occurs in urban, suburban and rural areas across America. It is one of the leading underpinnings of criminal activity leading to incarceration both in youth and adult penal institutions in America.
By the author of N'S.T.E.P., (Nine Steps to Empowerment Process) Gangology 101, a non-traditional approach to gang violence prevention and intervention and it's companion text, Original Diamond Boy: Psychology of a Gang Banger, Street Poisoned is a work of urban fiction. Street Poisoned depicts the stark realities of the gang life in West Fresno, California. It pits Cali, the story's key character, against the vicious crack cocaine market which threatens to overtake the hood. It is a story of the violent gang life encompassing numerous twists and turns brought about by internal conflict, deception, disloyalty. And underneath it all lies Cali's hidden agenda to himself control the mean streets of West Fresno.
N'STEP's® author, Le'Taxione who is also the author of this work of urban fiction does not condone violence, but the works also do not require gang denunciation. Rather in Street Poisoned as his other works are based on the recognition that once reformed, the unity and strength of what we call gangs can be a positive and productive entity within our communities. Therefore the focus is on helping the gang banger to think differently about themselves, society and the gang in order to make decisions which not only honor and benefit the gang itself, but also the community as a whole.
