The book consists of seven chapters. Chapter (1) examines the phenomenon of variation in L2 learners' performance, with special reference to sex-related differences. Chapter (2) is entitled, "on language learners/users dichotomy and reverse transfer: Reflections from the concept of multicompetence - A critical review. Chapter (3) deals with 'language and the parameters of power in medical discourse in spoken Egyptian Arabic.
