O knihe
By way of studying some selected short narratives of the prominent Ethiopian author Bewketu Seyoum, this work attempts to portray style in Amharic Literature. It is a stylistic research that takes foregrounding as the framework of the study. Both qualitative and quantitative foregrounding are employed, where under quantitative foregrounding point of view and parallelism, and under qualitative deviation are made use of. The point of view flank is done based on Simpson's (1993) Narrative Grammar of Point of view. Concepts of parallelism and deviation are borrowed from Short (1996) and Leech (1969).Though these works are the major foci; reference to other works is made as per the need.
