Sm doped TiO2 nano particles are prepared by sol gel method in different solvents. Tartaric acid is used as a precipitating agent in sol gel method. Different solvents are benzyl alcohol, n-hexane and Iso propyl alcohol.The size and structure of nanoparticles are characterized by XRD, SEM and EDX. Results of XRD, SEM and EDX show that better nano particles are manufactured in the presence of iso propyl alcohol. It has better photocatalytic activity and has low energy band gap as compare to others.
