Such firms are faced with the challenge of operating across multiple borders in an environment typified by ever-increasing global competition. The literature identifies activities which characterise organisations that operate TM; investing selectively in high performers but more crucially high potentials, conducting talent pool segmentation and linking talent to corporate strategy.
