Early childhood education and care has become the field of great interest for all involved in the process of child education and development. Pedagogical and methodological approaches are examined repeatedly, with the main goal, to contribute to the quality of pedagogical practice. Through the centuries, stories have been used to shape life events as well as to preserve the culture and history of human kind. The stories also proved to be good educational and amusing tool for children of different ages. Different research show benefits that stories bring to children's education and development. Since the benefits are evident, it is necessary to examine the perception of the teachers about stories, because they are in a situation to use stories a lot in their practice. The main aim of this research was to gain insight into teachers' perception of stories in the Swedish context.
